Founder & President

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Coach Zac Levine

Coach Zac Levine has been a basketball player for his entire life. Growing up, Levine played on various Bay Area based travel teams and attended national tournaments. In 2017, at age 14, Zac began his coaching career at Burlingame Intermediate School. Within weeks, he knew he had found his true passion. In the Fall of 2017, Zac founded NorCal Rush with just one team, but by December, demand for the program was so high that Levine expanded it. Since expansion, the club has grown to one the largest and most successful on the Peninsula. In 2025, Zac embarked on the journey of expanding the program into San Francisco, with NorCal Rush SF.

Zac’s passion and ability to connect with his players is unmatched in the Bay Area. His unique experience coaching players that were just a few years younger than him when he started, taught Zac about a player-coach relationship that is impossible to replicate. Levine has led teams to championships on some of the biggest stages in club basketball on the West Coast. He has personally coached over 1,000 games for boys and girls aged 9 to 18, helping propel over a dozen athletes to the collegiate level. Zac is a mentor (on and off the court) for all players and coaches in the club, regardless of whether he is the “head coach” for that team or not.

In 2025, Coach Ryan Silver and Silver Waves Media named Zac Levine one of the top 100 most impactful boys program directors on the West Coast.

Zac is a Burlingame High School graduate and recently received his Bachelor’s in Sport Management from the University of Michigan. During his time in Ann Arbor, Zac continued to manage his club. Now, he is back in the Bay Area excited for the next chapter of NorCal Rush.

“I am a firm advocate of believing in yourself. It is something I try to teach all of our players at NorCal Rush. When I was 15, I decided to start NorCal Rush with little coaching experience and zero administrative experience. I had no idea what would come of it, but I had people who believed in me. Now, I try to use my position to believe in our athletes, using NorCal Rush to teach perseverance, hard work, and determination, on and off the basketball court.”
